Acceptance letter for NIRSAT™
Effective June 1, 2006, the Division of Industrial Relations requires that all impairment raters pass AAEME's Nevada Impairment rating Skills Assessment Test (NIRSAT™) as one prerequisite to be on the Rating Panel of Physicians and Chiropractors for Nevada. AAEME/EME is the owner and creator of the NIRSAT™, the only approved impairment rating test for Nevada. To view this letter, click here.
Welcome to AAEME
The American Academy of Expert Medical Evaluators helps doctors specialize in providing expert medical evaluations for Impairment Ratings. Over 41 states require that the AMA Guides be used in the final report for workers compensation. The Federal Government requires the use of the 5th as well as Longshoreman Act and many countries across the globe such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy and more. With the advent of global industry, the AMA Guides has become the standard by which most insurance companies and countries use in the final outcome of cases.
Education is only one avenue to help the doctors attain expertise in this area. The second and more conclusive process is through IR testing and certification to substantiate the doctors understanding and competence in the use of the AMA Guides. AAEME is an educator of both the 4th edition and the 5th edition of the AMA Guides with an outstanding faculty.

Predictive Impairment Rater™
The Predictive Impairment Rater™ can be used to help determine the Impairment Rating for the 5TH Edition of the AMA Guides, based on body part and diagnosis. This may also be used to help set reserves for a claim. Select the area of the body and the reported impairment, and the average Impairment, Pain and Disability values are displayed.
